Renowned actor Priyanka Chopra has publicly shown her support for the ongoing SAG AFTRA strike, taking to Instagram to share a post affirming her solidarity with the union and her colleagues.

The strike, which aims to secure higher streaming-era pay and regulate the use of artificial intelligence, has garnered significant attention within the entertainment industry.

In her Instagram post, Priyanka shared a poster displaying the words "Sag.Aftra Strong" and expressed her unwavering support for her union and colleagues. She emphasized the importance of solidarity in building a better future. Priyanka utilized hashtags such as Sag Aftra Strong and Sag Aftra Strike to further amplify the cause.

Reports had previously indicated that production of Priyanka's project, Heads Of State, might be halted or postponed due to the strike. As a member of SAG AFTRA, Priyanka will be unable to work on any projects until a new agreement is reached between SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), effectively ending the strike.

The strike has witnessed a unique show of unity, as Hollywood actors joined film and television writers on picket lines for the first time in 63 years. Demonstrations took place outside major studios, including Netflix Inc and Paramount Global, with participants demanding higher compensation for actors and addressing the challenges posed by the evolving streaming era and the utilization of artificial intelligence.

The AMPTP, which negotiates on behalf of studios like Netflix and Walt Disney Co, stated that it had proposed significant compensation increases for members of SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America (WGA).

However, sources close to the studios argue that the industry is facing considerable challenges as many streaming services are yet to turn a profit despite investing substantial amounts in content creation.
